Choosing fonts:

Font choices for displays or larger signage should be simple and easily readable...in other words...BOOORRING...

Well not exactly, there are still some tricks to make your message both informative and interesting to the eye. Vary the size of the words and make your most important message jump out. That doesn't mean using 21 pt text vs. 24 pt text. Go for it - try your key words at twice the size of your support copy. Vary the font weight. Use all caps in one or two places. Create interest with underlines or outlines, but be choosey. A black outline in one or two places works - around every word it has no impact.

Bus Signs - Interior/Exterior
Advertising Creations has partnered with a number of design agencies over the years for the production of the City of Madison’s bus graphics. Currently Adams Outdoor Advertising holds the contract with the City of Madison for its bus graphics.

Types of Transit Ads and Bus Signs:
  • Interior cards are smaller and visible only to riders. They can be positioned either on the top of bus windows or on the divider behind the driver.
  • King and queen signs are the largest types of signs available. Located on the exterior sides of transit vehicles, they are typically attached with aluminum frames.
  • Tail signs are located at the back of the bus for ideal visibility to those positioned behind the bus while in motion or stopped at traffic lights.
